ESTATE WINES

Riesling VARIDOR
Back to the roots. Riesling from vines that have not been modified through breeding – but still grafted. Low yields and small, healthy berries form the basis for an intense, fruity aroma. Young vines selected from Riesling vines over 100 years old bring the yield level of ancient vines into new vineyards.

Riesling Quant
“Quant” is a word from my Moselle-Franconian dialect that describes something thoroughly good:
Enjoying delicious food in a pleasant atmosphere, having a wonderful evening, sharing laughter with friends — in short, feeling completely at ease. This is the feeling the Quant Riesling aims to capture.

Pinot Blanc
Vines from Alsace meet the slate soils of the Moselle. The wine is defined by subtle mineral aromas and the creamy texture of the Pinot.

BLAUSCHIEFER
The Devonian slate, typical of the Mosel region, lends the wines their lightness and elegance.
Blue slate is a particularly hard, stony soil that releases a wealth of minerals as it weathers. Our Blauschiefer is a cuvée of 50% Riesling and 50% Müller-Thurgau, shaped by this distinctive terroir.
ALTE REBEN

Riesling ALTE REBEN
“Alte Reben” = meaning “old vines” in German. At our estate, we cultivate vineyards whose vines are of an almost biblical age. These 50 to 60-year-old vines display remarkable vitality — their roots have firmly anchored themselves deep in the earth. At the same time, the stormy growth of youth has given way to the calm of age: the grapes remain small and ripen slowly into autumn.
LAGENWEINE | DRY & FRUITY

Laurentiuslay Alte Reben Riesling
Ancient, ungrafted vines planted before the First World War shape the character of this wine.
It is a fortunate twist of fate that the Laurentiuslay vineyard was spared from phylloxera, allowing these old vines to survive in first-class terroir. The wine is marked by a peacock’s tail of exotic aromas—vivid, vibrant, and multi-layered.
The grapes remain small, yields are low, but the quality is exceptional.

Maximin Klosterlay Riesling
Blue slate lends this wine its exceptional minerality. It is fully fermented and crafted in a traditional style. The result is a Riesling that combines captivating elegance and powerful richness in perfect harmony.

Maximin Herrenberg Alte Reben 1896 Riesling
A world-class Riesling from one of Germany’s oldest vineyards.
This historic site remains in its original 1896 planting.
With low yields of just 40 hl/ha, the wine offers a stunning spectrum of seductive aromas, paired with a playful elegance that defines its unique character.

Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett
This Kabinett originates from the Herrenberg vineyard, known for its soils rich in iron content.
Produced from over 100-year-old ungrafted vines, it offers a delicate, fruit-driven sweetness and the hallmark finesse of the Mosel.

Laurentiuslay Riesling Spätlese
The higher section of the Laurentiuslay is perfectly suited for producing characterful, fruit-sweet Rieslings. The aromatic expression of the Riesling from this site is phenomenal – the wines dance on the palate with vibrant energy and elegance.

Ritsch Riesling Auslese
Ripe, vibrant aromas shaped by mature citrus fruits give this wine its unmistakable character. This Auslese from the Ritsch vineyard enjoys the highest level of international recognition.
GROSSE GEWÄCHSE | GRAND CRU RIESLING
Ritsch Riesling GG
This Großes Gewächs unites the strengths of Mosel wine:
graceful elegance, mineral fruitiness, and an impressive, lingering finish. The potential of the Ritsch vineyard, the high-density planting of vines in traditional single-stem training, and the great age of the vines come together in this exceptional wine. Riesling par excellence!

Maximin Herrenberg Riesling GG
The steepest section of the Maximin Herrenberg is the origin of our Großes Gewächs. In this parcel, the slate is harder and poorer in nutrients. The iron content in the soil is so high that, through oxidation, the slate takes on a distinctive red coloration. These old vines, combined with the unique site, produce a wine of remarkable depth and complexity.

1896
Riesling 1896 | Black Label
Vines planted in 1896 on the red slate of Maximin Herrenberg, crafted in the style of two centuries ago.

Wines until vintage 2023 have a different label. Starting with vintage 2024, the wines have our new labels.
